Presentation of the Villa Rose

The infantry fort, named "Villa Rose" (classified Swiss museum), is located on the territory of the Commune of Gland, along the road to the lake and adjoins the Golf Club du Domaine Impérial.

The "Villa Rose" is steeped in history and allows visitors to come back to the period from 1939 to 1945 as well as the post-war period.

From the beginning of March to mid-November, we are happy to welcome interested individuals and groups (minimum 5 people) as part of guided and organized visits lasting 45 minutes. Prices are visible on our website.

Our qualified guides speak French, German, Italian and English. Several times a year, we organize free "Open Days" on Saturdays, the dates of which appear in our calendar of events. (Dates on home page under: Events)

The site is maintained by a group of dedicated and passionate volunteers. In addition to the museum part, it includes in particular:

A meeting room, with an area of 70m2, a faithful reconstruction of the Foyer du Soldat de Dailly in 1944. It is equipped with the latest generation audio-visual technical installations and can accommodate:

  • up to 50 people maximum (depending on needs and configuration requested)

A modest kitchen area is available with a refrigerator and a coffee machine. It does not allow you to prepare meals. We collaborate with various local caterers. White and red wines from the region, specially selected for the "Villa Rose", are available for sale.

Two outdoor tables, a few parking spaces and an elevator with access for people with reduced mobility complete the infrastructure. The Toblerones Trail is a short walk away.
